Pension Officer
The Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System of Iowa (MFPRSI) is currently recruiting for an ambitious, positive-minded individual to assist in the process of pension administration. The individual in this position will work closely with the Senior Pension Officers to communicate with membership, employer cities, and medical board, produce and meticulously review payrolls, process contributions, and maintain benefit and membership records.
Additionally, the individual in this position must be team-oriented and demonstrate accountability in work performance. The position requires the ability to manage changes in workload and priorities as needed. In achieving the goals of this position, the individual must manage expectations as well as demonstrate accountability and commitment to a constructive work atmosphere.
Minimum requirements for this position include a four-year degree in human services, business, or closely-related field; however, a combination of education and relevant work experience is also acceptable. Experience in benefit administration, specifically defined benefit, will be considered highly valuable experience. In addition, the individual should have excellent oral and written communication abilities, numeracy and analytical skills, and proficiency in electronic document management, Microsoft Office programs, databases, and benefit software.
MFPRSI provides comprehensive retirement and disability benefits to eligible municipal police officers and firefighters in the state of Iowa. We are a defined benefit plan servicing approximately 4,200 active members and 4,800 retirees and beneficiaries with monthly benefits.
